Watch Middle-earth Talk Episode 52 from Tolkien Moot XII

Middle-earth Talk has now become an annual video chat between me and Hawke Robinson, who chairs the Spokane, WA Ea Tolkien Society smial, a chapter of the Tolkien Society.  I was able to join them for 90 minutes on July 16, 2016 during Tolkien Moot XII.

The chosen topic was undead in Middle-earth, which was the theme of the convention’s role-playing and presentation segments.  The session opened with a reading of the minutes from the previous meeting of the Ea Tolkien Society smial.

Unfortunately there were some audio problems and while Hawke struggled with the software to get the sound back on track the video was focused on me much of the time.  Some of audio problems were resolved around 20 minutes into the session although the echo continued after that point.  Hawke left the video on me way too much because he was either distracted or engrossed in the discussion.  So I hope you enjoy watching me listen to Hawke, Brian Huseland, and others.  Hawke restored the focus around 26 minutes into the session.

The discussion also digressed into the powers of the One Ring and how the “wraith” world may have worked in Tolkien’s view.
